The curtain is covering my screen and I cannot get out

Press Esc. It only ever raises the curtain, never lowers it. Option-Command-C also toggles it, and the charm on the cord can be dragged up at any time. Quitting ShadeDrop from the menu bar takes the covering with it.

The camera feature is not working

Adaptive privacy is off until you switch it on, from the ShadeDrop menu in the menu bar. macOS will ask for camera permission the first time. If you refused it earlier, grant it again under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.

Option-Command-C does nothing

Another application has already claimed that combination. The cord and the menu-bar controls work regardless.
